Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI) £1500.00 First Come First Served

Employers are being given an added incentive to help a young person, who may be facing significant challenges, into work.

Over the next two years (until March 2015), Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI) payments of £1,500 will be made available to employers who recruit a targeted young person (TYP) as a Modern Apprentice (MA) or into employment of 15 hours or more per week. Contact MGT Training now to find out more, we have 300 places available on a first come first serve basis!

This could be someone aged 16-24 with a disability, who is leaving care or who is a carer themselves. Or it could be an ex-offender who has been convicted or cautioned for a criminal offence and has completed their sentence.

This initiative is open to any employer in any sector, who will be offered support from an expert agency in addition to the funding. The organisations, which include Barnardos and Action for Children, have extensive experience working with young people in these areas and can help with coaching, mentoring, advice to staff and training.

2014 Commonwealth Games Employer Recruitment Incentive

In support of the 2014 Commonwealth Games there are a limited number of Employer Recruitment Incentive (ERI) payments available to employers who want to recruit Modern Apprentices (MAs).

Over the next two years (until March 2015), Skills Development Scotland (SDS) will continue to deliver a £1,500 incentive for 16-19 year-olds undertaking a Modern Apprenticeship in selected frameworks, where possible this can be linked to a sporting or cultural event but this is not mandatory.

This Employer Recruitment Incentive will provide employment opportunities for young people across Scotland to ensure a lasting legacy from the 2014 Games. In 2012-13, the initiative supported 426 people through its Commonwealth Games strand and 101 people through its Targeted Young People strand.
